ERA Computers & Consulting provides computer system troubleshooting and repair, including virus and other mal-ware ([mal]icious soft[ware]) cleanup. We also provide business / charitable organization computing and network installation / troubleshooting (wired and wireless, single building, multi-building and multi-site), personal electronics system setup for home computers, home networks (wired and wireless) and electronic home entertainment centers.

Labor & Rate Information (Hourly Fees, Ongoing Service, Prepaid Block of Time)

ERA Computers & Consulting labor is calculated differently based on how labor is performed.

Remote labor over SSH, VNC, VPN or other remote internet access

Minimum fee is for 30 minutes. Increment is 15 minute intervals following the first 30 minutes.

Telephone or Instant Messaging Support

Minimum fee is for 30 minutes. Increment is 15 minute intervals following the first 30 minutes.

On-site labor

Minimum fee is for 1 hour, Increment is 30 minute intervals following the first hour.

ERA Computers & Consulting labor fees are different based on client type.

• SOHO (Home Offices, Home Computers) rate is $25.00/US per hour.
• SMB (Small to Medium Businesses) rate is $50.00/US per hour.
• LB (Large Businesses) rate is $75.00/US per hour.
• GO (Government Offices) rate is $75.00/US per hour.
• CO (Charitable Organizations, Christian Churches) rate is calculated based on our business rate of $50.00/US per hour. Charities then receive a variable discount of 10% up to 30% based on the type of organization.

Ongoing prepaid services, billed and payable prior to the first of each month:
(Minimum 12 month contract.)

• MoniSite Level 1
  • Once per month server security check with daily server e-mail log monitoring:  $50/month
  • One server
    • Microsoft systems do not normally provide server e-mail logs to monitor. A VNC connection and administrator access is needed for remote monitoring of Microsoft server logs. Add $50/month for monitoring of a Microsoft server.
    • This is primarily targeted toward monitoring Unix and Linux systems and usually requires we have root access.
    • The security check is done outside of normal business hours to avoid interruption of your business.
    • Security updates are applied during the security check as needed.
    • This is available as a remote service over the internet to clients outside our local area.
    • This is available as a remote service over the internet and on-site to clients in our local area.
       
• MoniSite Level 2
  • Twice per month server security check with daily server e-mail log monitoring: $100/month
  • Up to two Servers
    • Microsoft systems do not normally provide server e-mail logs to monitor. A VNC connection and administrator access is needed for remote monitoring of Microsoft server logs. Add $50/month for monitoring of a Microsoft server.
    • This is primarily targeted toward monitoring Unix and Linux systems and usually requires we have root access.
    • The security check is done outside of normal business hours to avoid interruption of your business.
    • Security updates are applied during the security check as needed.
    • This is available as a remote service over the internet to clients outside our local area.
    • This is available as a remote service over the internet and on-site to clients in our local area.
    • For our Linux and FreeBSD server clients this level includes installing the latest server upgrades when they come out. So, when your distribution releases a new version it would be installed at no extra charge to you. In most cases, this too can be done as a remote service over the internet.
       
• MoniSite Level 3
  • Once per week server security check, daily server e-mail log monitoring, Nagios monitoring:  $200/month
  • Up to four servers.
    • Microsoft systems do not normally provide server e-mail logs to monitor. A VNC connection and administrator access is needed for remote monitoring of Microsoft server logs. Add $50/month for monitoring of a Microsoft server.
    • This is primarily targeted toward monitoring Unix and Linux systems and usually requires we have root access.
    • The security check is done outside of normal business hours to avoid interruption of your business.
    • Security updates are applied during the security check as needed.
    • This is available as a remote service over the internet to clients outside our local area.
    • This is available as a remote service over the internet and on-site to clients in our local area.

Definitions for our purposes here:

• SOHO - a micro-business run from a home office with only one employee.
  • Usually the employee is also the business owner.
  • A home office with more than one employee will be treated as a SMB.
• SMB - companies that are not run from a home office and have 1 to 500 employees.
  • Any SMB with more than three physical locations for which ERACC will be providing services is treated as a LB for pricing purposes.
• LB - companies that are not run from a home office and have 501 or more employees.
