Internet Development & Service

ERACC can build, install and develop your web presence from planning phase and ordering a domain name to hardware installation and software setup to LAN to WAN connectivity. Get your own web and e-mail server in-house with your own domain name and unlimited e-mail addresses. ERACC can supply all the hardware and software needed to get you connected. Or allow us to recommend a shared web host or VPS (Virtual Private Server) host for hosting your web site. A shared host will cost roughly $90 to $100 per year. A VPS host will cost roughly $180 and up per year. A ".com" domain from GoDaddy will cost around $9/US per year, give or take a dollar. As of 2010 we recommend using the Drupal Content Management Framework (CMF) or the WordPress Content Management System (CMS) using your pick of one of the thousands of "free" CMF/CMS themes for your web site. For more information please contact us.

What is a CMS and why do I want one?

Shopping Cart Development

We can set up a shopping site for your SOHO micro-business, small business or medium sized business. We recommend Ubercart on Drupal for our clients. However, if you have a preferred shopping cart we will be happy to assist you getting your preference installed with a basic configuration.

Shopping Cart Installation and Setup fees:

  • Installation of Drupal - see section that applies to your business above.
  • Installation and configuration of Ubercart on Drupal
    • SOHO - $150
    • SMB - $250
  • Setup cart categories to your specifications
    • SOHO - $25 per hour
    • SMB  - $50 per hour
  • Import cart items into Ubercart from CSV data file(s)
Note that these may be uncategorized and have no descriptions in an import unless categories and descriptions are included in the import file. In this case you are responsible for adding cart items to your categories and inserting pictures with descriptions. If you have us do this the fee will be a per hour labor charge based on the prices under development fees above.

Examples of our work:

A site we upgraded from plain HTML to Drupal:
www.jacksonmobilphone.com
This site was repaired in February 2013 after an operating system upgrade in late 2012 caused some problems with paths on the web server. Because the site is used primarily as a message pager gateway, and that was still working, no one noticed the problems for a while. The server DocumentRoot was set properly, but the Drupal "RewriteBase" rule was incorrect. This was an "easy" fix, once the problem was known.

A site we set up using WordPress and the ProPhoto theme:
leeannerussell.com
This site was started in December 2012 and is still a "work in progress" as of now. The site owner has placed the project on hold while she deals with a long term family matter that needs the majority of her attention. We are providing updates only at this point to keep the site secure with module and WordPress security updates.

A site we created using Drupal and Ubercart:
www.oilwholesellers.com
This site was started in July 2013. It is using the AT Commerce theme.

This was a larger list at one time. Unfortunately most of the businesses we were showing here have now gone out of business.

Of course we do all our own work on our sites

We are using Drupal, Drupal + Ubercart, WordPress and phpBB respectively.

Definitions (return):

  • [1] SOHO = Small Office/Home Office. Typically a "micro-business" with one to four employees. For our purposes we define SOHO as a business or individual with a gross income under $250,000.00 (US dollars) per year.
  • [2] Charitable Organization = Churches and other organizations that provide mostly free or very low cost services to communities. Any organization that is recognized by the U.S. Government as a charity.
  • [3] SMB = Small to Medium-sized Business. Typically a business with more than four employees up to about 100 or so employees. For our purposes we define SMB as a business with a gross income of $250,000.00 to around $5,000,000.00 (US dollars) per year.

Notice: Depending on complexity, web site development can cost from about $750.00 to well over $10,000.00. These costs do not include self-hosting hardware, shared hosting or connectivity costs. So don't get caught by other companies quoting you a low price just to get your business. Always get two or more quotes from competing web site development companies. Don't forget to contact ERACC when you do need a quote!
