Feedback to VOICE News

Mon, 20150112 - 19:58 -0600

The response to recent news items has been most encouraging! Many exciting things are happening in the OS/2 universe these days, and we hope to bring you breaking news as it happens. That said, we've had a number of "email reply misfires" lately. Please review these guidelines to ensure that your comments go where you want them to go in a timely fashion, and where they'll be of the most use.

When responding to a specific post, please remove the DESPAM from the poster's email address and send to that address ONLY. Please do not send requests for information about a specific post to the moderator unless it is an update or clarification, or if the moderator himself has created the content (such as this exact notice).

For example, if a news item is posted concerning a new offering from XYZ Company, and the From: address is someoneDESPAM(at)DESPAMxyzcompany.tld, simply remove the two DESPAM strings to create a valid email address and send to that address. Sending to the feedback address, or merely clicking Reply will delay response to your inquiry.

Thanks for your consideration!

Your humble SysAdmin.

Fri, 20150109 - 04:42 -0600

*bww bitwise works GmbH progress update January 9, 2015*

This is a small update to the recently announced Apache OpenOffice for eCS (OS/2) and Dropbox Netdrive plugin.

Our Dropbox download limit exceeded within 2 days 2 times. Which means we got over 40GB traffic (according to Dropbox).
We now upgraded our account and also added passwords to the shared links. With the password we can eliminate spiders and crawlers from downloading the files.

All links are still the same as announced earlier. As a password please use: bww
We are sorry about that, but we hope to have ironed out the problems by now.

DFSee version 12.2 released

Wed, 20141224 - 09:46 -0600

DFSee version 12.2 has been released, with new functionality and several fixes.

It is a MINOR release, with EXFAT file recovery support as the
main added feature, and several other small enhancements and fixes
(like automatic LVM dialog on creating a partition working again).

EXFAT is a 32-bit FAT filesystem optimized for (very large) removable media
like SD-cards used with cameras. It has an additional allocation-bitmap that
avoids a lot of the normal overhead when writing contiguous files. It is
now supported by Windows, OS-X and Linux, and is the recommended filesystem
for SD-cards larger than 32Gb.

DFSee is a very powerful disk-utility with disk partitioning,
filesystem and disk analysis, some file recovery and UNDELETE
and smart imaging or cloning of partitions or complete disks.

More details at:
www.dfsee.com/dfsee/
