Apache OpenOffice for eCS (OS/2) 4.1.1.1 GA

St. Veit an der Glan, Austria, February 10, 2015 — 1 month after our
Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 GA, we are now proud to present the 2nd GA
version of 4.1.1.
This GA is rebuilt with our latest compiler. With this compiler we
were able to reduce the memory footprint significantly. This should
bring more stability on some systems.

The GA version includes english, german, italian, french, spanish,
dutch and russian language pack. And of course this version comes
nicely packed in a wpi.

Apache OpenOffice is the free and open productivity suite, consisting
of several mighty applications, such as Calc, Writer, Base, Impress
and several more. Apache OpenOffice is compatible to the leading
commercial productivity suite.

Download Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1.1 GA from:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hd9a9sjr8jszw16/AAC_iXq4PdV4tRuAlAigbfRia?dl=0
The password to download the file is: bww

You need only one complete wpi for your preferred language.
If you want to install an additional language you need only the
language wpi for the new language.

For additional installation information, please read the
readme_aoo.txt file. The file can also be found in the
directory from the download link.

To fill a bug please use:https://issues.apache.org/ooo/
If you create a ticket, please also set your ticket to block ticket 118923.

If you like Apache OpenOffice, please pass by our online shop at
www.bitwiseworks.com/shop and donate for Apache OpenOffice for
eCS(OS/2). These donations support the ongoing development and
bugfixing efforts.

DFSee 12.3 released; Performance improvements

eComStationNews.com - Sun, 20150201 - 08:21 -0600

DFSee version 12.3 has been released, with performance improvements and fixes.

It is a MINOR release, with several small fixes and enhancements, but
most of all, a HUGE performance improvement for file recovery.

Searching for normal/deleted files has been sped up by a factor of 100
or more for most filesystems, by restricting the search to areas known
to contain directory information (including Inodes, Fnodes, MFT-records)
Instead of searching for several hours on a large volume, it will find
all the files in existing directories within a few minutes.

Using the '-d-' option or 'Search Outside Dir/Fnode/Inode/MFT area too'
checkbox will revert to the older much slower search method, but will find
ANY file, even if it is not inside the currently present directory areas.

DFSee is a very powerful disk-utility with disk partitioning,
filesystem and disk analysis, some file recovery and UNDELETE
and smart imaging or cloning of partitions or complete disks.

- DELFIND/FILEFIND: Speed up SPACE search with Rsn2Lsn translation cache
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on EXFAT: '-d-' option: outside DIR space too
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on EXFAT: Automatic SLT build for fullpath lookup
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on FAT/HPFS, on-demand create FIND space (not on open)
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on FAT12/16/32 '-d-' option: outside DIR space too
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on FAT12/16/32: Automatic SLT build for fullpath lookup
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on HPFS: '-d-' option: outside FNODE space too (slower!)
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on JFS (QFI): Automatic SLT build for fullpath lookup
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on JFS: Integrated QFI (Quick Find Inodes) for consistency
- DELFIND/FILEFIND: on NTFS: '-d-' option: outside MFT space too (slower!)
- DFSDISK (bsfind) recognise JFS superblocks on 64/32 (1 MiB) geometries
- EXFAT: Implement directory iteration to allow faster (SPACE) searching
- FIND: allow search restricted space (ALLDIRS) only, for faster filesearch
- FINDSPACE command to display filefind/delfind SPACE areas, when known
- FS: Init Filesystem, ignore empty 'FSINIT' cmd after EXPORT/IMPORT list
- ISO: Fix deliverable ZIP files to include the 'dfsi*' executables again
- LVM Dialog: Fixed <F1> help to show the context sensitive LVM dialog help
- MENU: FileFind/DelFind dialog enhanced with checkbox 'outside DIR space'
- MENU: FileFind/DelFind dialog enhanced with persistent search argument
- UI: Allow up to five checkboxes on value-prompt and DIR-selection dialogs

PSPRINT (Enhanced PostScript print driver) v30.905 released

eComStationNews.com - Sun, 20150125 - 09:18 -0600

PSPRINT.DRV version 30.905 (preview release 5) has been released.

www.altsan.org/os2/printing/

PSPRINT.DRV is an experimental new version of the OS/2 PostScript printer driver. Besides a number of tweaks and fixes compared to the IBM driver, PSPRINT also introduces support for TrueType font embedding.
PSPRINT includes all fixes and updates from the ECUPS driver, plus a few additional fixes of its own. New in this release:

* Printers which use ColorModel for defining the colour mode should now
correctly print in colour from applications like Apache OpenOffice. * The default URL page of driver properties no longer points to a defunct
IBM site. (This change does not affect existing printer objects, only
newly-created ones.)
* Various even more minor tweaks.

Feedback to VOICE News

eComStationNews.com - Mon, 20150112 - 19:58 -0600

The response to recent news items has been most encouraging! Many exciting things are happening in the OS/2 universe these days, and we hope to bring you breaking news as it happens. That said, we've had a number of "email reply misfires" lately. Please review these guidelines to ensure that your comments go where you want them to go in a timely fashion, and where they'll be of the most use.

When responding to a specific post, please remove the DESPAM from the poster's email address and send to that address ONLY. Please do not send requests for information about a specific post to the moderator unless it is an update or clarification, or if the moderator himself has created the content (such as this exact notice).

For example, if a news item is posted concerning a new offering from XYZ Company, and the From: address is someoneDESPAM(at)DESPAMxyzcompany.tld, simply remove the two DESPAM strings to create a valid email address and send to that address. Sending to the feedback address, or merely clicking Reply will delay response to your inquiry.

Thanks for your consideration!

Your humble SysAdmin.

We now upgraded our account and also added passwords to the shared links. With the password we can eliminate spiders and crawlers from downloading the files.

All links are still the same as announced earlier. As a password please use: bww
We are sorry about that, but we hope to have ironed out the problems by now.

Apache OpenOffice for eCS (OS/2) 4.1.1 GA

St. Veit an der Glan, Austria, January 7, 2015 — 5 month after our
first Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 RC, we are now proud to present the GA
version of 4.1.1.
The GA version includes english, german, italian, french, spanish, dutch and
russian language pack. And of course this version comes nicely packed in
a wpi.

Apache OpenOffice is the free and open productivity suite, consisting of
several mighty applications, such as Calc, Writer, Base, Impress and
several more. Apache OpenOffice is compatible to the leading commercial
productivity suite.

Download Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 GA from:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qunohnz8douij79/AABPqOcPoZYd57AAYjEtNPrPa?dl=0
You need only one complete wpi for your preferred language.
If you want to install an additional language you need only the language wpi for the new language.

For additional installation information, please read the readme_aoo.txt file. The file can also be found in
the directory from the download link.

To fill a bug please use:https://issues.apache.org/ooo/
If you create a ticket, please also set your ticket to block ticket 118923.

If you like Apache OpenOffice, please pass by our online shop at
www.bitwiseworks.com/shop and donate for Apache OpenOffice for
eCS(OS/2). These donations support the ongoing development and bugfixing efforts.
